Remember that bossy annoying chick from the old-school version of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory? Viola something-or-other? I'm starting to resemble her after she ate that piece of "three-course-dinner" gum.
Full of blueberry juice.
Delicious...
Scrumdiddly-umptious...
Blueberry juice.
The truth is I promised to share pics of the blueberry baking bonanza... and I am not one to break my promises.
I also promised to share the recipes with you. They are included below... and are easy as pie. (Pun fully intended.)
It is true that Alton Brown has been called quirky. His Blueberry Muffins Recipe doesn't do him any injustice and continues on that same note. Strange oven temperatures that change halfway through - the addition of yogurt, and an obvious attention to detail in how he crafts his food. However, that being said, these were the BEST blueberry muffins I've ever had.
(And I'm not just saying that because I know my Mum will read this and she helped me make them. Well... maybe a little.)
But these really were incredibly easy & SO worth the trouble of busting out the Kitchen Aid.
The next recipe comes from someone I've never heard of. But wherever you are, Garen Zamarra... you have a gift for making lip-smacking, spoon-licking, warm blueberry crumble. Might I make a suggestion? Serve this dish warm with a healthy-sized scoop of Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream. It just ain't right any other way! (Whoa... a little Texan slipped out there. Sorry y'all.)
So may the blueberry gods bless you, Garen Zamarra.
And you, flock.
Here's wishing you beautiful blueberry baking bonanza days of your own.
mwah!
