How to keep your brown sugar soft:
1) Put a piece of bread or a piece of citrus fruit with your sugar in an airtight container.
2) Buy a brown sugar stone from BB&B or any of your other favorite home goods stores.
3) Store it in your freezer.
Nuking to revive brown sugar:
If your brown sugar becomes hard, or develops clumps, microwave it for a few seconds on a low to mid power level to bring it back to its softer state.
Nuking to revive honey:
Unless it's growing mold, honey never goes bad. If it gets milky, thick, or some solidified "chunks" start to form in your old honey, don't throw it out! This is the natural process honey goes through when it settles over time. Open the cap on your honey container and pop it in the microwave for a few seconds. Stir & ta-daaa!
Make your own powdered sugar:
Ran out of powdered sugar (aka confectioner's sugar) and don't want to make a dash to the grocery store?
No biggie.
Just throw some standard granulated white sugar in your food processor and "process" until it becomes confectioner's sugar!
Easy-peasy lemon-squeezy.
xxoo!
