Mother's Day means something different for every mom.
Breakfast in bed, perhaps. Maybe flowers or chocolates (or both!).
But I think the things that can make Mother's Day really special aren't "things" at all - but actions.
So, I encourage you to "do" something for your mom (or mum) this Mother's Day.
Need some suggestions?
Ask Her!
Check out the May issue of RealSimple magazine for a list of "10 questions to ask your mother" - or come up with your own list.
(For example, I really want to know how my Mum survived through everything we put her through - and I've always wanted to know more about her childhood and her relationship with her own mum.)
Write to Her!
Going to be far away from your mumsie on Sunday?
Forget Hallmark - write a letter!
I promise, you'll be amazed at how quickly you fill up a page. And there are few things in life more exciting than receiving a handwritten letter in the mail. Be sure to mail it soon so it gets there on Saturday!
Help Her!
I'm willing to bet EVERY mom would be happy to get some additional help around the house.
Or would love to meet you for lunch on a pretty summer day.
You can make your own coupons for your own mom.
(If I lived in the same city as my mum, I think I would give her a week free of ironing!!)
Click here to download coupons for your mom... print 6 to a page & just fill in whatever task you want to do for her and your name.
So, while most mums would like some new bling or a vase of flowers... every mom would LOVE the sincere, personalized gift of action.
My plans for Mother's Day?
I'm meeting up with my Mum and my sisters on Friday for our annual Mother's Day Weekend trip.
There will be laughs.
There will be gambling.
There will be shameless singing and maybe some naughty jokes.
It. Will. Be. Awesome.
Here's a clip of us at a Mum's Day trip a few years ago:
Love you, Mum!!
