Hear ye, hear ye...

Hello my lambs! Phew! What a week!

News: The little.black.sheep.shop is moving! Not virtually - we've grown to love our home at TypePad and our shop at Etsy - but physically!! In a little less than a month we'll be departing windy Oklahoma in favor for the more sunny (and arguably more friendly) South Carolina!! Woohoo!!

We made a short but sweet trip to "the SC" last week and found the most adorable little house!! We'll finally have room to spread out! (Although the puppy and I have become accustomed to working and cuddling in cramped spaces. :) )

The move won't affect shipping rates - so not to worry. Actually, it won't really affect the shop much at all... except that your "little somethings" will likely be handled by much cheerier postmen & women than before!!

I have been busy creating new little somethings to add to the shop over the next few weeks - namely little lambs pieces for young ones. I've also been putting together some pieces for those of you who, like me, have "fuzzy children!" I'm really excited to do my first shop update! I'll let you know when I have a date picked out.

I have also received a number of requests for custom pieces over the last few weeks. Please let me know if you would also like me to create a little something for ewe & yours for this upcoming holiday season, and I will be sure to send it your way in time for the holiday you are celebrating.

Punkin Patch Trip!!

We just happened to pass by a little pumpkin patch yesterday on our way to a birthday dinner...

They were all so cute - some had a ton of character, I wanted to take them all home! Ryan & I each picked out a pumpkin to carve...

I picked a doozy, but he had the most beautiful markings & really stood out from his pals. We'll see if I have the energy to take out all his innards!

Ryan picked a sweet Goosebumps one... Too cute! Very Halloween-y. :)

Daisy, daisy... all for the love of you...

After seeing a few of my daisy prints the other day, a friend said she thought they would look really cute paired together. 

As one of three sisters (and a true believer that odd numbers are somehow more harmonious than even ones!) I decided to offer my very first print set in the shop! (Many thanks you to my very thoughtful friend for the fantabulous suggestion!!)

So... here's a look at the set that's currently available in the shop. 

You could split them up and give them away as individual gifts if you wanted to - or you could frame them together as a trio!

I've decided they do make quite the friendly bunch!! 

Brand new paintbrush cozy!

I'm a pretty mobile crafter - unfortunately I don't have enough space in to be able to keep all my tools and supplies out and available at all times.

Which means I've had to get pretty creative as to how I store all my little whose-its and what-nots when I'm not working on something. 

Years ago I made a little wrap to store all of my paintbrushes - but it was never what I really needed, and somehow Riley (my forever adventurous and curious wire fox terrier) always seemed to be able to pull his favorite one out of the top when I wasn't looking and give it a good little chew! 

So!

 I decided yesterday it was high time that I invest 20 minutes of my time to make myself a new & improved paintbrush cozy... 

Ta Daaaaaa!!! 

This one features a flap at the top to keep the brushes safe from my furry friend's mischievous nature... a much improved design over my last one! 

I also really like the bright pink trim and closure... 

    

And the best thing of all? It's got plenty of room for me to add more paintbrushes in the future!

Woohoo!!

buttons, ribbons, odds & ends

Yippee! I finally found the tiniest buttons that ever existed! 

      

I have so many ideas for these little guys... so I'll have to restrain myself from using all of them at once... it will be terribly, terribly difficult!

I also picked up some really great ribbons to add to my growing collection... 

My favorite has to be the tape measure one. A-dorable.

Finally, since I've been sewing quite a bit recently, I found myself perusing through the "Specialty Threads" section - always a dangerous venture - and I just couldn't pass up on these neat metallic-y threads. 

They were a little pricey, so I'm going to have to find an extra special use for them. 

I can't wait to put all these bits and bobs to good use! I'm sure most of it will end up in some form or fashion at the shop - so I'll let you know what happens to all these "little somethings." 

Anyway - I wanted to share these with you, as promised, and will keep you in the loop on future craftsy shopping trips.

autumn has arrived!

Hello!

I'm really excited that autumn is finally here - I love the sunshine, but there is something about feeling the first cool air of fall.

So it inspired me to take a few trips to my favorite crafty stores over the last few days - and I whipped up a few of my favorite things to share with you in the shop.

First, my adorable little trivet sets:

I also created some cinnamon-y, nutmeg & all-spicy sachets... which Riley was very interested in! He nabbed one when I wasn't looking and when I caught him, he was thinking about tasting it - that would not have been pretty!! (I've kept that one for myself.)

Also, the shop is finally up to date. I've got a few more things I'm working on that I plan to finish over the next week or so and I'll upload them when they're finished.

Oh! I'll also have to share some pictures with you of some of the awesome things I picked up during my small shopping spree this past week! I'll try to remember to post those soon.

First round down

I just finished the first round of updates to the shop... I'll be doing the second half later today. Yippeeee!!

Can I just say, I am SO excited the seasons are changing... because I finally get to use felt and not feel like I'm celebrating Christmas in July!!

I bought a ton of felt this week, and stocked up on cute little buttons and the most adorable ribbons. So there will be some soft goods available in the shop later today - I think you'll really like them! I hope so anyway...
